Jaakko Rönkkö was born in 1947 in Vieremä, Finland. He lives
and works in Kuopio, Finland.
He attended the Art Institute in Lahti in 1973-76 and the
Academy of Fine Arts in Leningrad in 1976-79.
He has held several one man exhibitions since 1976 e.g. in
Gallery Becker in Jyväskylä in 2006, Willa Mac -gallery in
Tampere in 2005, G-gallery in Helsinki in 2003, at Varkaus
Art Museum in 2001, Kuopio Art Museum in1997, in
Strindberg-gallery in Helsinki in 1988, the Gallery of the
Finnish Painters' Society in 1984.
He has participated in several group-exhibitions since 1976
in Finland and abroad e.g. Mänttä Art Festival in 1995,
1997, 1999, 2000, the 75-year Jubilee Exhibition of Society
of Finnish Graphic Artists at Kerava Art Museum in 2001,
exhibitions of the art-group Ultima Thule in Finland and
Norway in 1988-89, Nordisk Teckningstriennal, Skellefteå,
Sweden in 1989, The Exhibition of Finnish graphic art and
drawings in Santiago de Chile in 1989, Eventa II, Uppsala,
Sweden in1996, Höhlenbiennale,Gera,Germany in 2003, and
several exhibitions of North Savo region artists home and

State of Finland, the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, the
Art Museums of Helsinki, Lahti, Kuopio and Jyväskylä the

of Iisalmi, Joensuu, Kuopio, Suonenjoki and Varkaus.
He has public works e.g. in the Embassy of Finland,
Canberra, Australia,the Kuopio University Hospital KYS and
